I'm a big Laker fan.
although in Holland, most people don't even know about the excistence of the NBA.
when I am walking down the street in my Laker or Orlando shirt, most people ask me i'f I play honkball:nilly:

the only store in Holland that sells NBA-clothing or Air Jordan is located in Amsterdam.

What is "honkball?"

Miami coaching staff can't match up with Lakers coaching staff. The first game was on Christmas day, and I don't remember when was the last time Lakers won on Christmas day. :D Second game was a good one, but we're talking a 7-game match. I prefer a Lakers vs Heats final. Kobe and the Lakers beat Superman the year before, beat Big Four last year, so it's time to bring on the Big Three!!

it doesn't matter what day they played....the miami heat with lebron james and dwayne wade is not a team that our team should've had trouble getting up for. i can't make excuses for them for either one of those games. What i can do is look at the individual match ups and say that miami can give them fits. We're not use to teams having any type of advantage on the wing and ron artest and kobe are not greater then dwayne wade and lebron james on the wing on EITHER side of the floor. imagining them in a best of 7 just gives me nightmares. just be careful what you wish for. kobe losing to lebron and wade in the finals would DESTROY his legacy

i want a rubber match against boston, right now we're tied up 1-1....we need to break that tie.

How can a no ring or 1 ring destroy a 5-ring legacy? :grinno: In order to be the best, Lakers need to beat all best! (or "big!") :naughty:

*sighs* i once use to be blindly loyal and nieve...now i realize that so much of a championship run has to do with luck of the draw and your match ups.

using your theory...please explain why karl malone, kobe bryant, shaq, robert horry, rick fox, derek fisher, gary payton lost what should've been ring number 4 to ben wallace, chauncey billup, rasheed wallace, tayshaun prince and rip hamilton. please don't say shaq and kobe didn't get along...i don't care, they made it that far, should've been able to finish it off.

great players, a couple guys over their prime, but i always thought they didn't mesh up well

great players but didn't have that connection, that's my opinion

didn't mesh well eh? i don't buy that excuse either. here's why.

They won 56 games that year, third best record in the league (more then they won this year too),

they survived a much more difficult western conference playoff schedule and made it all the way to the finals. i think you'd fall apart long before you made it that far if it was a chemistry/age problem.

you telling me those boys with 2 hungry players in payton and malone who had both made it to the finals but lost couldn't muster enough IN THE FINALS? They weren't worried about their legacies either?

i just find it amusing how we just throw away that season and forget about the horrible horrible failure that should not have happen. let's just sweep it under the rug so to speak
