Lovin' the Ms and the S2K. :)

I don't have a project car (yet, if ever). Rode public transit for 12 years before getting a hair up my ass. The 3.0si version of the Z4 is a ball of fun. Still under extended manufacturer warranty, so I haven't messed around with after-market mods.

It was a tough climb to 150 mph on the salt flats, her tail was getting a little light above 130.

Aftermarket headlights DIY retrofitted with Acura TL bi-xenon projectors using Retro-solutions.com 55w 5k Digital HIDs
Battery relocated to trunk, passenger side (Optima red top 35R)

As of this Friday I'll also be installing a half-sized radiator and keeping it on the passenger side to keep cooler air getting to the intake and (ultimately) running the intake filter into the bumper. I refuse to run a cold air intake (into the wheel well) as, where I live, it's not unusual for flash flooding to occur.

And many, many, many more things. Exterior loos essentially stock though :)

All of the above was done by me including the motor swap, transmission swap, suspension, etc. I take pride in doing all of my own work.

The car is regularly autocrossed (at least once a month when I can make the events).

Here are some pics:
A bit of wheel stand action ;)

My little blog I've got going tracking all changes that occur with my car: http://www.dc5intent.com/josolanes

It is updated the day of each mod installed now - will be updating with a bit of a DIY for the half-sized radiator install as this radiator isn't really designed to fit in my chassis but I'm confident it won't be too difficult to work :)

Here are a couple of my favorites...

2000 Audi S4...at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park and right before I sold it.

Big turbo kit, ohlins suspension, stoptech big brake kit, tons of other mods.

2005 Lotus Elise...at Streets of Willow Springs Raceway and right before I sold it.

Supercharged, race tuned suspension, carbon fiber bits, etc.

Have had others since...Audi A3, A4, Mini Cooper, Mercedes C Class and now driving a 997 Carrera S and Golf TDI but I miss these two cars the most!

Awesome history of cars owned :headbang2:

Curious, which is/was your favorite to track? :)

Thanks - I hope to ride in one at autocross soon enough. I've heard the same locally. Definitely jealous of your car history, really amazing cars :)

I'm not really a fan of autocross, but it does help with basic car control technique.

Road courses are another story...

The Lotus with a good driver is always one of quickest cars on track...the handling and braking is sublime.

I got mine because I could never keep up with one around a corner in my crazy modified S4 and that car used to dust most cars on the track.

But the Audi with 4WD and 400+ hp was just too easy to drive fast on track.

I got the Lotus to learn to be a better driver...2,000 lbs., 250hp mid engine rwd, no electronic driving aides other than anti-lock brakes.

Lotus elise/exige are great cuz its light, and if you can maintain ur momentum thru the turns then your golden on the straights.

Try that same car minus 400lbs plus 500 more hp and enough downforce to feed a small country....that's when technological advances in motorsport occur, whilst pushing physics to another dimension. Simply awesome-F1
