Official Gun Lovers Thread!!!

I have never critisised your ability as a shooter, if I came across that way I am sorry. What I was trying to point out is just that there is a huge level of skill (which I dont have, but I'm trying get) involved in shooting .22lr at 25m, 50m, 100m after your comment of it only being 50 yrds, also the fact it is an entirely different discipline to 'practical' shooting. This was the only context I said I would 'humiliate' you in. Different game different rules. Whos the best runner? Ben Johnson or Seb Coe? Well that would depend on wether the race is 100m or 10,000m. So whats better shooting? A tiny dot at 50yrds or a deer at 500? Different things entirely...

I only used the pepsi can analogy as most people have never look down the sights at an olympic target.

So I see in my absence that this thread has been somewhat hijacked with bickering.

Lets try to get this back on track.

I was at a some gun shop tis past weekend and they had a SWEET mossberg 500 shotgun for sale. I had a sorter barrel that had a flash supressor built in. and a colapsable stock. The stock and pump were carbon fiber look alike. (just painted palstic) It was sweet I had the money to get it but I didn't.

But on another note I did get a foregrip for my AR. It was only $20 so I said to myself whynot If I don't like it i'm only out $20 so that's not bad. I like it sofar.

Ill try to get an updatd pick fr you guys sometime.

I think youll like the foregrip! I think it feels alot more natural. You might have to get used to it before you recover your previous level of accuracy or maybe not.
I used to have a Mossberg 500 and loved it. The only thing I didnt like was how the two rails inside fall out and it could be a pain in the buttocks to pop back in quickly or under stress. Never had to deal with it under other than range firing but I remember it was a bit annoying.

P.S. thought i would bump this up to the top since next weekend is the kenton coon dog trials and I'm heading that way to try and pickup something new. I am going to try to get rid of my S&W sigma 40cal and take some cash and try to get one of the following.
$250 cash
AR acces.
AK knockoff
A 50cal rifle. (a guy had one there last year for $1200)
nice 9 mil.
1911

Or if I don't see anything i'll keep it and try to sell it to one of my friends for fish money lol

What do you mean by knockoff?

My guess would be a semi-auto version. I mean technically the "AK-47s" you can buy really arent that. They are usually AKM clones with their own manufacturer and model name. For example, the Romanian made SAR-1. Its name is SAR-1 chambered in 7.62x39mm it is styled after and functions similar to the AKM-47, but isnt an AKM-47. Most people dont even know what an AKM-47 is and just call it the AK-47 because the AKM looks similar to the AK. Im sure you know all that though...

I miss my old AKM clones. If the damn parts kits werent so high Id get back into building AKMs. :(

You got it and most of these guns that are romanian made only hold a single stack clip. Not the double that the REAL AK holds however the lower can be cut to hold the larger mag but not something I would be willing to do.

So just in case you got a "real" AK Poly you might want to check it and then think to yourself hmmmm.. wierd even if I could own a full auto LEGALLY I wonder why I can't find a AK-47 I can find all the Ak-74 and AK-74Us I want but no AK hmmmm they are all more then likly owned by some rebel group trying to kill each other.

That's what a knockoff is

ahhh, good time. Me and my mate for about three hours were shooting his air rifle yesterday. only gun we can shoot in his yard, trust me if we could have gone bigger we would have, rather then shooting with the .177 slug gun.

air rifle + bored teenagers + cans + a mound of mulch = good time.

Actually most Romanian rifles are double stack. Just the WASR series are not double stack. Sadly only the WASRs are being produced. :( And again you arent finding AK-74s. They are AKM-74. AKM stands for Automatic Kalshinikov Modern (in Russian of course). The difference is that AKs used the heavier receivers milled out of a single piece of steel while the AKMs used a lighter stamped sheet metal receivers that were quicker and cheaper to produce.

You can own a full auto legally in most states. If I had the coin Id get one for sure. Its that true Russian milled receiver AK-47s would cost $50k+.
