I'm soo frustrated with the water dept now. A couple weeks ago we had a HUGE water main break, it was said that break alone drained 10% of a reservoir Socal uses. There has also been a couple other breaks since and every time all DWP can say is,
"Errr, well these pipes are a hundred years old duuuhh"
I do get some comfort guessing DWP employees are hating life now because now people are calling,complaining and it's being documented via the news. Hopefully people are fed up as I am and whips are being cracked, heads are rolling.

bro I don't even know what DWP stands for, let alone get a discount for anything

but it's been great since getting rid of grass. I have decomposed granite for ground cover, boulders and plants for decoration.

really low maintenance and very low water use. just gotta keep an eye on the drips for clogs or what not, and pull out some weeds here and there that get thru

I don't understand why people water their lawns though.. I mean, you have a garden and you're willing to dump tons of water there. Get a pond....

Lol, Id like one! But that would mean water AND power for the lawn, I think they'd take me away for that lol, maybe once we go solar

Department of Water and Power, I thought they were offering some kind of incentives for switching over to drought resistant lawns.

You'll love this: they tell us to conserve water, we did and then they say they are raising the price of water because they are not making enough money!
