According to the doctors it is. They freak out when it's below 9.0 and start screaming possible blood transfusion when it drops below 8.0.

Also below 9.0 they say I should feel it and be weak. Funny, I've been outside working on the cars today.

Replaced the belt on the PT then the tensioner breaks. So, I'm putting it in the shop before I go to the Hospital.

Chevette is still smoking off and on. I put some oil ring sealer in it

Good luck and hopefully this works out.

I havent been on the site the past few days for something similar. 3 days ago we noticed some bruising on my son, then followed by something that looked like a rash. Long story short hes been in the hospital since. Had two transfusions yesterday, been diagnosed with ITP (the body destroys the platelets in the blood). I am scared ****less little guy is my best friend and it kills me to not be able to help him. I have been doing nothing but reading up on the illness. Just praying to god that its not something that stays with him for life. Its take roughly 6 months to for the them to be able to tell if the transfusions were successful and another 6 months of monitoring to determine if it was acute or chronic.

Life is funny 1 minute riding high no issues......bam !! Out of no where your on your knees scared out of your mind.

Scary how fast s*** can hit the fan and turn your life upside down. But then the flip side is that sometimes when you'd at your lowest that's when things take a turn for the better. Really hoping your kid pulls through, I got a 3yo boy and another kid on the way, it would break my heart if he got sick, you just feel so helpless.

Thx F fuzzlebug

Having kids is like living with your heart outside your body man. I still cant believe this is happening. I swear i wanna put my hand through a wall.

Good news is that his platelet count went up to 42k. But hes having some other complications, DR said they are normal side effects from the transfusions.

I just need to spend time learning as much as i can about ITP. I really hope he falls into the 80% that gets it once and never again. Im naking it my job to become an expert on this.

What sucks and is breaking my heart is dureing the 1st few months because of the platelets he wont be able to play sports, rough house and basically do any of the things he likes.

Man sorry for ranting guys

Damn, that's tough.. all the best to you and your kid jaws, I'm sure he'll heal no problem!
Lots of strength to you, too, W Warborg .

hemophiliac jaws?

not sure which he may have. my oldest daughter came down diabetic at 9 months old, got the flue and her antibodies killed her pancreas islets, she is 32 now.

Wow jaws that's tough. Sorry to hear that, I wish your son all the best man.

hemophiliac jaws?

Thx for your cencern everyone. No not hemophiliac pops. No medical reason on why ITP happens. Only that some how the antibodies get tricked into tagging platelets for destruction. Good news is he did really well with the two infusions and they let us come home tonight. Big blood test on friday to see if his body held the current count of 42k. If so then we just hope and pray that it was acute and he starts weekly blood tests. No contact sports or anything like gym or running around outside until the dr says so. Went to toys r us as soon as i dropped him and the wife off and baught EVERYTHING LOL his spirits were good after that
