Yes,they are harmless.They only grow to about a foot and I don't think they even have teeth lol.
Cute. I found a young egg eater but it looked very similar to a puff adder, I was hunting small birds for the farm workers (they eat them) so I just poked it with the end of my air rifle. Aggressive bugger coiled up and struck it repeatedly before it slithered off
I used to think they were garter snakes when I first discovered them years ago until I looked them up and identified them as a totally different species.Oddly enough,I have never seen a garter snake in the wild.
So,what kinds of birds do your farmhands eat?
It was on a family farm. I live in an urban area actually.
Lots of small birds, whatever you can kill they'll make use of. Even squirrels

Fenwick...about 30 min from the house. Too many tourists from pa,ny and nj at the local beaches.
