Well, it’s not all bad news. My Oscars are nesting up again!
Okay, go ahead...ask how to keep them, and how big of a tank they need, and what tankmates will work, and what they eat, and...and...and...other stuff!

Go ahead...I dare ya...! :)

TOS for this site, were created and/or endorsed by the owner. Moderators and administrators have come and gone over the years. If a person stops by my property, and chooses not to follow my rules, it seems that I ought to have the right to ask that person to leave. No need for 1, 2, or 10 warnings required. For me it’s quite simple, FO and don’t come back.
Hello; I did and do get your point. That the owner and in turn his/her minions can run a private business their own way was not really the issues during the troubles. The pretense of "fair play" was grating. The making of rules which were not evenly applied and the like.
I suspect, but do not actually know, there are benefits of large active memberships for such sites. If this is not the case and the expense is an out of pocket cost for the owner your point is even more valid.

I do not and still do not endorse vulgar language and such types of uncivil posts. The site should not be a fee for all to be rude and vulgar. However, such was not all that was happening. Some points of view were punished even when presented civilly. Other viewpoints were allowed to continue even when crossing civility lines. Perhaps all or most of that is behind the site.

Hello; Ran across an interesting and disturbing incident back on Oct 1st. I forgot about it being the 1st and stopped by the local Wal-Mart. In the foyer was an obese man. He was sweating profusely and struggling to catch his breath. Had a shoulder bag with oxygen tubes going to his nose. I thought it was a unique situation so i reported his situation to the door greeter. The greeter is someone I have come to know the last few years. I stop and speak with her often.
Turns out this is a common thing on the 1st each month.
The big store has 15 electric carts for customers. On the 1st they are in demand. That guy and others are out of luck finding an electric cart at the entrance. Seems the play is to cruise the lot and grab a cart in the parking lot.

Wow! I never did over 225 in high school, as I recall. That was 1969 and I was maybe 170 lbs. But I don’t lift as a sport at 70 yrs.

I do lift from necessity.

Yesterday I lifted the back of my project car about 1” and had my wife pull the jack out.

To be honest, the body, seats, engine, tank, battery, trans, rear bumper, etc are still in the garage. ;) It’s just the frame, suspension and wheels.

The paint has cured so today I’m putting on the top seam sealer. I’ll do the bottom tomorrow.

Hello; Another tragic dog mauling story. No real positives except a far stretch in that other owners might take heed. I hear the oft repeated cries that dogs are not the problem and it is the owners. I do not buy into this, but many do. Regardless the owners in this case have pled guilty to manslaughter if i did read correctly.

Sadly the owners ignored a very clear warning when the dog in question went after a neighborhood child. The article did not give details of whatever rationalizations the dog owners may have made at the time of the earlier incident. Fairly sure i have heard the sort of illogical reasoning before. There was a big go around on this site some years ago over dog attacks.
I also did not see what, if anything, the owners did to control the dog. What did happen was the owners left the dog unsupervised with their own small child. That child is now dead with a crushed skull. The dog has been put down which i see as too late.

I see internet pictures most days of dogs with infants and small children. I suppose because I click on dog stories. That many get away with such is good i suppose. I see potential tragedy. Have a niece who got rid of her dog after her first child was born. made perfect sense.
I lost the friendship of long term neighbors over their aggressive dog. They wanted to let it run loose. After some police calls they have been forced to keep the dog confined to their yard.

This again?

Okay, I give up. Dogs are evil; they did not evolve, nor were they selectively bred by us; they were created and placed upon the earth by Satan, specifically to terrorize and prey upon humanity.

I'm still planning on playing the odds. For instance, right now I am driving on the wrong side of the road, exceeding the speed limit and not wearing my seat belt, heading for the seaside. I plan on snorkelling with a copper antenna strapped to my back and pointing up into the air, in a lightning storm, with a raw steak strapped to my side, during the annual Manitoba shark migration. Thinking of taking up smoking during the long drive, and have a six-pack on the seat next to me in case I get thirsty.

Gonna be fun; wish me luck! :)
