Alberta has been rat-free for 75 years! Help us stay that way by checking your vehicle for rats and their signs, like droppings and chewed wires. Report rats and rat sightings in Alberta by emailing rats@gov.ab.ca or calling 310-FARM (3276).

I'm amazed to hear that a huge province that grows vast amounts of grain is rat-free; that's an impressive achievement.

I can't imagine any reason why such a program could not be instituted successfully on a national scale. We could have an entire rat-free country...hell, the Parliament buildings in Ottawa would literally be empty...
