How do you like the dehydrator? I've had one for a couple of years and a jerky recipe book but yet to use either.

Love it. So easy. You dont even need to flip the meat. Dries pretty evenly. I do put all the smaller pieces on the top though so I can remove them earlier then the rest


I have been looking to get a dehydrator because it is tricky to avoid burning it on the Traeger. Ideally I would smoke it a bit for flavor and then finish it in a food-dryer. My favorite is definitely the hot-soy-ginger one, but my wife tried one that had Coca-Cola that was pretty good, too.


You've made me want to go buy some flank steak!

Coca cola? I'mma Google that. Yeah, its not a must for me but I do love a lil smoke flavor added in.

I'm making some tomorrow to sneak into the country music festival this weekend.
 
Just put it in the fridge.I adjusted the recipe to what I can get and what I personally like.

Here's what I ended up using: (For 1lb of flank steak)

Soy sauce
Teryiaki sauce
Piri-Piri (ended up being VERY spicy..lol)
Chilli powder
1" piece of chili from my garden
halved
White pepper
Mixed pepper
Salt with rosemary
Salt with smoke aroma

I think that's it. We'll see how it turns out tomorrow.
