Hahaha, that section only exists because of the drama surrounding the threads that use to pop up in the lounge. They had to be hidden from the lounge rats

You mean all the "my pitt bull's .... is bigger than your pitt bulls .... threads?

It was a dealer.

I've had bad luck with local shops too.

A place charged me $189.00 to change the tranny fluid on the Chevette. I even gave them the gasket.

Another place charged me $200 to fix a gas leak on the Chevette(replaced a six inch hose)

Another place charged me $1000 for a complete(New rotor, pads and calipers) frontal brake job and new fluids on my 1991 truck

I don't know why I get screwed over so bad. I would have thought my car knowledge would have helped. I guess it's punishment for not doing the work myself.

Smh, ask around.Find someone you trust, don't wait till you need work done either. I'll admit I don't have experience with PT Cruisers, and I hate to say it, but I think they really did you ugly this last time around.

Consider a rescue dog first.

I am. Sucks tho. My gf and I already had been thinking about getting a dog, so we already had a few great great offers, but because I know no matter what my gf says, the dog will be 100% my responsibility I declined the offers.
After this break in, I realized I gave this neighborhood I grew up in the benefit of the doubt, and got bit. So my priorities change. The most exciting part of the break in was the second I realized what was happening, (didnt immediately know upon entry)realizing there was a high probability the guy was still on the property, and I was gonna possibly confront the guy with absolutely nothing but ol dynamite and iron as Al Bundy would say. I should change that.

I'm going to start looking for a dog. Most important thing is an easy going attitude. Is it contradicting to say next I want a dog that naturally gaurds? Any suggestions, I want a med to large dog.
ask that question & ppl recommend their fave breed or the PR about breeds. but individuals are vastly different within the same breed. Look for the individual that fits your home, lifestyle/personalities, & needs.
I've had great dogs of various breeds & most "worked out for" deterrent watchdogs. Like df said, all you need is a dog who lets potential intruders know it is there.
People are scared of a deep bark, they won't verify whether the dog is actually mean. my last big dog had that.
Now, if you want a dog that can be left inside your home when you're gone- that's going to take more work to find a non-destructive one. Check rehoming ads in CL too. Occasionally, already housebroken dogs show up there.
It takes a long time for puppies to act like watchdogs. your intruder might steal it ;-)

Thanks granny. I am checking out CL, crazy, like 1000 posts but only like 10 of them are of people trying to find homes for puppies. I have seen people trying to rehome young dogs. Actually there is a nice German shepherd there. I've always liked them, but I did notice some owners mention they could be nippy. If I get to choose, I think I'm leaning towards Rott.
I'd say find out what kind of dogs YOU like, then ask us if we'd recommend them.

One thing I know I want is a calm,
"energy efficient" dog :)My last dog was too high energy and alot to control. Rottweiler and German shepherd are what I'm thinking now, what do you think?

Young German shepherd or rott is not what I call calm. Now a 5 year old German is a perfect dog IMO. Loved middle aged shepherds

What do you mean by calm? Lots of dogs don't tend to be hyper even when young, but a young dog is never going to be as calm as an adult.

What would you consider calm?? Even at a young age?

Calm can vary but most mellow out at like 4-5 years but a well trained dog can be very calm or at least appear so. Then again I've met mellow individuals of psychotic breeds and psychotic individuals of supposed mellow breeds
