While a fan of both performers, I have to agree it was not their best. I agree with the message and have seen it go both ways so it is alive and well unfortunately. But to say he sold out because he is promoting racial peace and understanding instead of keepin it real in the hood is total BS. I loftily say that from my white and nerdy tower as someone raised to judge an individual, not a group.
I can understand that. While it was meant to be a symbol of southern pride, that symbolism comes with some heavy baggage. Add in the idots today that use it as a form of racism and trouble starts.
Agreed,as far as the claims of selling out.Hopefully those who said that were just quick to jump to a conclusion and not fully understand what the record is all about....Lol@selling out...Big L recently hosted one of those awards shows and at the end he broke into a performance on stage,with some other,cross genre acts.Seems he can't catch a break these days as there was a little flack for that as well.
