You do not know what it is.....spend one week with 40 to 43 and you will abhorr it...

Of course you young and unworried guys can go to the beach, it is 5 minutes away, but beyond lying there like a lizzard, with the sun shining on the pages of your book so you cannot read, and all that sand, ampnd the mere fact of the women considring that since you are there you automatically are the childrens lige guard, which you are, any way, because you cannot be at ease with the small kids in the sea, and after having carride all the **** woman find ncessary to carry to the beach, i can tell you how i hate it!

Oh Miguel Miguel Miguel. Do yoy really think I would spend holidays in countries like Jordan, Portugal or Crete if I didn't like the temperature there? I tell you, 6 months of cold each year in Germany is waaaay worse.

I went to the beach in Crete and it was terrible!! People everywhere lying on deck-chairs, people trying to sell you jetski rides, bars resorts right on the edge of the sand. Not my idea of fun sorry.

This is the beach I go to regularly, mostly for exercising the dogs, I actually tend to stay away over summer when it's hot and there's lots of people there! This is about 20 minutes from home, we live on the road leading there from town, 10 minutes to town and 20 to the beach. Not my pics sorry, but you get the idea...

Not sure if I could handle living hundreds of miles from the coast like so many do, having spent my entire life near it. I'm not a mad keen boatie, fisherman, swimmer or diver, but there's just something nice about it...

Quite likely, I'm sure there are many lovely spots there, and my sentiment was only in jest. Beaches are different things for different people based upon where you live, who you are and why you go there. I love the moody ruggedness of a stormy beach on a winters day as much as the warm calm summer relaxing beach.

@David- I would also be tottally unhappy living far away from the sea. Cannot imagine what it is to live away or far from it and now feeling its daily breeze and smells.

But this does not mean that one has to like the beach and all the **** it entails.....i loathe it.

Moreover, ours ea is at its most beautifull in winter, when its colours are plumb grey and the waves hit the enbankments. Those are the days you can loose hours looking at the sea, hearing it, and decidingo on the worlds fate.

Surely not in scorching heat, full of loud people, fatsoes in tiny bathing trunks, baskets full of food and the sand, and the sun.

You also get distracted, on your world pondering endavours, by lot of g strings...

Pah. How am I supposed to enjoy the waves when I cannot swim?

So it seems that there is a hole somewhere in my pond liner. Why does everything have to go wrong in my life, ffs :(
