That story about the family is sickening. Told the wife but she knew about...started telling me some details and i quickly stopped her.

They were all strangled according to news reports and the prime suspects are a mother and daughter who are related to the others.I mentioned it in Jaws' suicide thread.

Wow. Smh... Jaws might be right.. You've mentioned a few incidents over the years.

Too much going on locally lately. The other night an apartment full of dead family members was found and this evening a Mercedes-Benz suv was carjacked across town. The driver and his small child was allowed out of the vehicle after a few miles....a few hours later the vehicle was found abandoned and practically down the street from my house.

Yikes! Time to move....

I don’t regret moving away from the city.
We lived right on the main road. Multiple car accidents on the corner our house was on.
My husbands work car was broken into. Police said it had been happening a lot in the area. Drunks from the local bars breaking into vehicles and taking them for joy rides supposedly.
My daughter, who was only 4 at the time, told me about an angry man in her window well. Scared the crap out on me. I never got anymore information about it from her, but it still scares me when I think about it.
Our house was tp’ed the week we moved in.
Our dog got hit by a car right in front of our kids.

We were only there for 3yrs, thank goodness.

Service/emotional support dog bit girl's face at airport. This is an old story(2017) but I've never heard of it. This story is confusing. I read service dog at first but later it states it's an emotional support dog. At the beginning it mentions it's a pit bull, then later states an unknown breed. It also states it mauled the 5 year olds face then says it just bit her. From the graphic pic(in the link) It does look like just a bite. The girl asked the owner first if it was ok to pet him(the owner said yes).

Edit: It seems the service dog is something my eyes played tricks on me.

Hello; I recall seeing this story a while back. My take is a main difference between a service dog and a emotional support (EM) animal is the selection and training the service dog may get. I do not think the EM dogs get as much.
Another thing I have noticed is more and more people bring what seem to be just ordinary pet dogs into stores. I have gone to employees (manager) of Kroger about it and been told they can do nothing about it. In addition to the bite risk there are sanitation issues and allergy issues. I do not especially want strange dogs around my food.
I was in a Tractor Supply last Sunday where a couple had two mastifs with them.
I figure the stores will eventually have bans on regular dogs in a business place after enough bites and such get expensive. I think some dog owners are taking advantage and just taking untrained dogs into places of business. Get the dog trained and some how certified with an official tag or vest. I see those sometimes but mostly lately I just see regular pets.
I now have a rental house next to my place with college students in it. I was talking to one student when she told me she was trying to get her dog declared an EM animal. It was just a pet with no training and nothing was mentioned about training nor testing.

Yeah. This has become a big thing in the past few years.
People found out you can pretty easily get just about any pet declared an emotional support animal. This lets them take their pet everywhere and even lets them keep their pet in rentals that otherwise don’t allow pets.

I’m going to vent and complain a bit.
It’s been a long week.
A plow truck has been out twice and couldn’t make it through the drift on the driveway. The snow got piled up even higher, over my head. The last couple days now I’ve been working on clearing it out as best I can. Then hopefully I can get someone back out here with a truck.
My progress weds and thurs
Top is how it looked after having the snow piled up by the truck.1362978
The most depressing part? That is not wide enough to drive through. I need to clear at least 3 more feet.
And I still have a pretty size able drift infront of my garage as well.
Cherry on the cake.... 2-4 more inches of snow today:shakehead

My goodness, which state are you in?
