OFFICIAL PLANT/GARDENING THREAD

Congrats on your sprouts!
They need a lot of sun - as much as you can give them - but since you are starting them inside, transition them gradually so they don't get sudden sunburn or shock. They like a lot of water (in good drainage) while growing, and then can tolerate dryness once they are almost mature.
You can actually keep them going year-round if you have enough sun, or bright enough lighting inside.
Seeds from your plants, will not necessarily produce the same fruits as the parents. Enjoy!

Thanks for the tips!
I have not had them in sunlight yet since I started them off on Top of my fish tank for extra heat from the light fixture, should I still put them on the colder, but brighter windowsill?
Not being of the same sort as the mother plant is exactly why I cultivated them (there was also only one plant of this sort around) -do you know about chilli genetcis?
Thanks again :)

Yes - definitely - they need as much sun as you can give them.
Sorry - I don't know much about their genetics - but it'll be fun seeing what pops out.

Will do, thanks.

Plant they came off was a Bolivian rainbow, nearby there were several peppers with pretty large, less spicy fruit, so I'm hoping for something interesting:D

Found some page online where someone had hybridization between a Bolivian Rainbow and a piri piri. Plant was literally exactly a mix of the parents! Hope I'll have similar success :D
I also have them on a windowsill and starting about 4pm when the Sun isn't as prominent I have artificial lighting on till I go to bed. Good?

Anyone have any tips on roses? My roses look horrible, all rusty. Full sun?? Lots of water?? Fert recommendations?

Full Sun, not too much water. I never fertilize mine.

Edit: just remembered you live in cali. Slightly less Sun and more water in that case.

Lol, yea can't figure out the perfect combination. I've only recently taken an interest in them. My aunt gave me 2 roses in pots, and there are 3 in my yard someone else planted. The ones in my yard are all planted against a wall, not sure if that makes a difference. Those look really bad and have leaves that turned that rust color.
