I used egg crate covered in gutter guard just zip tie them together. Gutter guard is available at Lowe or hd its cheap like $8 for a roll. Then they won't fit.
You can also buy a thin clear plastic cover or plactic glass at home depot and just drill it big enough for the pothos plant to fit in.

Ok so slight change of plans. Was planning on keeping a single cichlid in the 75 with 4 UJ and 3 ropes. Not going to be keeping the cichlid anymore. So now it's a 75 with just the UJ's and Ropes. Will the ropes provide activity? or should I consider something for activity along the top? Again, want to be conscious of my bioload and be able to stick to 25-50% weekly water changes.
As for securing the egg crate along the back of my tank for the ropes, I think I'll just get some screen mesh and zip tie it to the egg crate. I couldn't find any of the "green chicken wire" but i think the mesh will be just as good.

This is just my ignorance when it comes to keeping polypterids. I assume that means ropes are pretty activeSounds like plenty of business to me
Ropes are going to be active for sure, polli and senegal are always active aswell. What else are on the list?
