I think R1-rider use's a Nikon D40 and his shots are outstanding. I would think the D40 would be a good novice/pro camera to start with. :D
thanks i feel better already hearing it from you.. just want to get more aquainted before i put all that money invested.. so thats what i wanted to hear...:D

i am going to start with the nikon d-40 .. if this works out and i enjoy it then i will trade it in for something even more.. do you think the d-40 is enough camera to learn DSL.. i bought the canon A5-IS powershot.. pretty good pics.. but i want better..
i have a D40, its my first DSLR and its a great camera. i took this with the standard kit lens and no fancy flashes. i really want some more lenses but they are so expensive!!

sorry for the threadjack ;)

i feel totally satisfied in my choice to begin... wow beautiful... sold me!!!

Great pics!!!

I got the D60. I've literally taken less than 100 photos so far. I like the manual setting, I'm just a bit too slow as of yet.

Looking at how photobucket/MFK resizes the photos I need to do some cropping on the next batch. These are straight off the camera.

Snapped a few more and did a closer crop. Damn water marks.
