Tired it but SUFFIX is better!

I heard from a friend that Suffix was better for worming, so I gave it a try for a whole day and then I gave away the rest of the spool. I'll stick to Power Pro.

Power pro is a salmon and steelhead anglers dream, just dont have your finger on the line when they take off running or it'll slice you wide open.

While I have never been cut by Power Pro, I have gotten cut by Spiderwire. Though I know if I do the wrong thing with Power Pro it will cut and probably deep too.

suffix is only better in certain situations like when light line is needed such as 5-10 pound test. 15+ pound test is better in power pro.

I know when I used it that day that it kept making a ttthhiiisssssd sound when I casted. I respooled two or three times that day, didn't matter if I spooled by hand or machine same thing. So I stick to Power Pro, I even use it when fishing saltwater Stripers.

Power pro will cut you or your rod handles like a knife but its good stuff

Rod handles really how does one achieve this? I've heard of so braids cutting the rod eyes but never the rod handles. Well unless your wrapping the line around your handle to pull out a snag or something, but why would you chance that. I use a taped up 8" metal tube for that, even back in the days a mono.

Ouch!, I'll remember that if I ever go Salmon fishing.

Same thing with kingfish. Also i somehow cut about 1 inch into my rod handle while catfish.

I don't think braids cast as well. I have found I get better hookups with a mono or copolymer, especially when fishing cranks.

Hmmm.. When I fish freshwater Bass in Florida because of the weed factor and because I fish mainly weedless rubber frogs, I use 30lb Power Pro. After the bite is off on the frogs I which to a few other crankbaits or soft jerkbaits. Only when all else fails do I go the worm route. When I used mono the biggest problem I had was the stretch in the line, I would loose like 40% of all hits. I rarely loose fish now, I believe do to the no stretch factor of Power Pro.


Actually in the beginning it was tough I was used to the hard power set needed with mono, and I would rip the hook out of the fishes face. Just like when I threw to an area where I just saw a huge boil, after a minute or two I jerked the worm the line moved a bit again there was a large boil and I set the hook, actually what happend was a fingerling picked up my bait while a bigger fish a few feet from I thought I was boiled up on some bait fish. This poor little guy came flying out of the water right at me - In coming my buddy yelled.

My fishing buddy preferres mono when worming, not me though I don't even really like worming at all.

Totally opposite over here, salmon bite is so light, and the second a steelhead hits your spinner, the fight is on.

what do you mean they dont cast well they have no memory to mess you up. Also im going to say that you probably are jerking the rod to hard and just ripping it out of the fishes mouth

we only fish summer steelhead with spinners. Fall, winter, spring steelies are mostly caught drifting spawn, bobbers, wobble glos, etc.
