Oh no! way to small of a tank!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
never put anytype of goldfish in a tank less than 55 gallons because they need to be in small groups and the smallest types get up to six inches larger up to two feet and they have a large bio load due to there inefficent digestive system.

No goldies. Some good uses of 5 gallon tanks are:
1: guppy pair
2: platy pair
3: Betta
4: 4-5 zebra danios
5: holding/rearing tank

It's a glass fish. I remember now. Would a 55 suit 3 Bala Shark and a Rainbow Shark well? If I did do the set up with a 55gal 3 Balla Shark and a Rainbow Shark, would a peppered Cory Catfish be safe and happy in the tank?

I would say that's an OK setup, might want a couple more cories though.

Yes I would add more cories. 75G would be better and shouldn't cost much more.

IMO, not trying to argue, but for now a 55 would be fine, and in a year or so if you get the money or find a good deal get a 75.

How many more Cories would be enough? And I am considering a 75, a 55 seems to be on the smaller side.

There are several 125 gallons on craigslist in your area. A 75 gallon for a group of active 12" fish isn't really adequate.

IMO balas need a minimum of 100 gals and cories do best if they are kept in groups of four or more
