I am getting different responces. I don't want my fish to be unhappy. I would rather give them back to house of tropicals and get different fish. What size talk would I need to keep ballas in 55, 75, or 100? I can't get a 55+ tank until around Christmas, but I am getting a 30gal tank very soon. Hopefully It can manage them until I can get a bigger tank. What should I do??

It'll take them till xmas to outgrow a 30, and with a 55 you have plenty of time. Ultimately though, you'll probably want a 75.
With balas (tricolors) the bigger the better. I've kept mine in either a 125 or a 265 (currently have 3) but the should be happy in a 75, 55 would be a bit tight for 3 of them. They are very active fish, they can develop a busted nose of the tank is too small. They can also jump really well so a lid is an absolute requirement. If the bala is 1.5" or under they will live in the 30 till christmass easily if you do regular water changes.
That’s great; I will take a 75gal tank near Xmas. I just got a 30 gal tank off craigslist, with everything but heater all for $40. Sunday my two fish are moving in the new 30gal tank. What size tanks do glass fish need?
