Thats horrible. The worst part is that not just the dolphins are being affected.

you shouldn't get your panties in a bunch just yet... the source is a wwf guy who gets PAID to create animosity against ANYTHING that MIGHT be dangerous to wildlife...dolphins are smart...if there is a food source they will likely adjust....

It's a difficult choice. If you don't think more electricity is important, try living in Florida in the summer without AC before criticizing.

In the article there was mention of other nearby areas that,if damned instead of the dolphin location, would yield more power with less destructive impact on the environment.

did anybody mention the cost of rounding up volunteers to MOVE the dolphins to an unaffected area... bet its not much more than it is to campaign against the dam.....

If it's that easy for them then I wonder why there is only eighty five of them left in the river.

People just put themselves before EVERYTHING else! The real apocalypse is when every other species of animal on this planet goes extinct and the big business leaders realize they can't sit down to a nice dinner any more, which is when they realize their mistake and by then it's to late. It's sad but I'm about 99% sure that or something of very similar occurrence IS in fact how the world will end. That or from global warming which will kill us in oh say 100 years, max! Kind of off topic there sorry, I just get so mad at people sometimes, I'm sure a lot of you feel the same.

the fact is ,,Most 3rd world countries don't care about their own citizens ..let alone a group of dolphins... anybody that cares to check will find LAOS is about as 3rd world as it gets,,,this area of the world has SEX SLAVERY as a rampant issue .... so real humanitarians might have bigger fish to fry

don't know about"easy" but they may or may not end up gone,, dam or no dam..I Do think it sucks but being familiar with the politics of such things leads me to believe that there are probably SEVERAL options to keep the dolphins safe,,, but this option (stopping the dam) is the most profitable way of pleading for big donations....even the "good guys" usually have a money as motivation

You said it...fact,so the political situation there is already well known but who are these real humanitarians you mention?..I wouldn't think the plight of those dolphin would be their focus anyhow.
