Until 1952 saudi arabia was one of the poorest nations in the world. As for Bush to blame for high oil prices thats bullsh**t blame the high prices for oil here in The US on enviromentalist, Unrefined oil is the problem, we need more places to refine oil. Old army bases was proposed by the hated bush people but environmentalist keep that from happening. The sword has a double edge.
The 'environmentalists'?
More like people who aren't short-sighted. So you open up more areas to get the oil and end up destroying the land. In the short-run, you get slightly cheaper oil for a few years.
You think oil is important, wait until water becomes scarcer and all you have are polluted areas with nasty water. You'll be wishing those wetlands weren't destroyed... you can't drink oil.
Sucking every available area dry isn't the solution. Getting away from oil is... so let's get this shortage over with and get the industries to start scrambling for viable replacements, because that is where the money will be.
