it's a boy. vent tube is small and skinny. would like to find out which pet store did you bought him from. I am also lookinf for a female. thanks

Not sure where in Cali you are from but if you are familiar with the San Fernando Valley, I could tell you exactly where I picked him up. I don't usually shop there because it's a bit run down and the owner doesn't really keep things clean and well kept. But they do happen to get in some of the rarer CA cichlids in the Valley.

Let me know if your still intrested. Just keep in mind their juvie RD's come and go. It's just a matter of being there at the right time. Here is a pic of my fish as Juvies less then 1 inch when I bought them way back on May 6th 2006. The 2nd pic is my male, and the same as my avatar. LOL he was actually less then an inch in that 2nd pic!

Thanks man! Last night he got in a very wierd mood when i woke up in the middle of the night and just turned on the light to the tank. He was flaring up and acting very agressive as If he were pizzed off at me for waking him up! I've never seen him this crazy before. Maybe his personality is starting to develop now?

That is a boy, My all white midas started out with really short fins and so I thought it was a female. But now at 8" he is definitely a male with a killer attitude, by himself in a 75gallon tank, he wont tolerate anything in the tank, even a common pleco.
