OK, so here's my 125 CA setup, FTS and stock...

She is hiding in that damn rock on the left, it is hollow with an entrance in the back. He needs a bigger female that just wants to breed all the time.

The argentea are definitely lookers but I'm not crazy about them to be honest. They don't have the best personalities and just want to kill each other all the time. From what I've kept, Vieja is one of my favorite genuses of fish looks wise, but personality wise they don't really do it for me as much as some others. I really like the cutteri I'm this tank, they're a lot of fun, and freddys are too.

If you REALLY still want a male down the line I'll see what I can do, obviously I can't keep 5. I'm sure you could order one as well with decent size on it, but I haven't seen many pictures of fish as nice as I think mine will turn out as adults. I have been seriously caring for them like my own children (if they had gills and lived in a glass box in my living room...).

If I could find someone decent to take my big Oscar I could get one. I have had him for quite awhile so I couldn't give him to just anyone. Had to get rid of my Syns because they would nip him. A seller I know in Thailand has a really nice sized male but didn't order because no room. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY8f4jgDAU0 The owner says hes about bit over 10" now.

Yeah let me know down the road when you decide to split them because if I have the room then I might take one. How big are they now?

woah! amazing...

I was checking that website to get a 3d background (been waiting for aquaterra for months w no luck) and I saw one of the tanks with a heater attached directly to the bg with common suction cups... do you know if that's possible? I'm thinking of going with a slim background and I don't really feel comfortable dropping my heaters into the sump...

Email DBN, I bet Matt will answer you in under 24 hours. If you've got a sump, that's where your equipment should go, keep the tank uncluttered. It really detracts from the natural look when you have a big heater hanging out in open view.

Largest is around 5" TL.

I bet it makes your fish feel very comfortable.

Thanks. I don't think the care that much, if you look at Aquamojo's setups he doesn't do anything fancy and his fish obviously are extremely happy and healthy, water quality and proper layout for hides are the most important thing IMO.

Thats a good size. Oh and "rescuing" the Maculicauda pair is an understatement, you haven't seen the store have you?

No, but I know the type. Had to treat the male for internal parasites. Did you keep those midevils? If it makes you feel any better, these two obviously haven't spawned yet either. I would go pick up that proven female at A to Z, but it would be world war III in my tank. Argentea have always been my breeding goal for Vieja. Thanks for picking them up for me again.

No problem, whole situation was funny with your friend trying to get them at the same time. Left the lid up after doing a water change and the male jumped ship, he never really settled in. The female adjusted but I took her to a local store after the male died. Total waste of money but live and learn....... Gonna hold off until after I start school in Sept and settle then I will order some true ones from someone.

Yeah that store seems to only carry stunted, inbred, or deformed fish that are overpriced. Bought a Uaru from them a year ago and it was severely deformed. They were in such a rush to get me out the door I didn't notice that, ended up culling the poor thing because its spine was so messed up it couldn't swim right. To call the store a pile of **** would be to compliment it.

Got a decent shot of the BB pair...
