That looks really nice...and like you said, with the sand, changing it out regularly is key.

I don't recommend the use of sand to people because I assure you, you are in the 1% minority that is willing to change it out regularly. I can't advocate something that isn't practical for most people to want to do. Kudos for keeping up with that though! Loose substrate does look very nice when done with rocks and plants and whatnot, there's no denying that...
 
Thanks elevatethis, I know we haven't seen eye to eye on the sand issue but using it is not totally out of the question. But I agree that a LOT of people out there shouldn't use it unless they're total committed to changing it.
 
I think the idea of sand is that people think they see sand in pictures, but when one visit some of the places like Australia -- it's more like dirt than sand.

Anyway, nothing wrong with sand if you take them out to feed.
 
lol. They're great man... taken good care of them over the years. Must be cool to have had them so long.
 
awsome man,i guess the breeding all the time dosnt have efect on shortening the life span?I always heard that about beardeds.Could be crap but my female breaders seemed to live not as long as they could have so i felt bad,but have you guys heard that before?
 
Thanks for the compliments! They are old, but they don't seem to show it. I can't believe I bought these guys in '92! It seems like so long ago.

Jason, they have slowed down the egg production big time and I only get maybe 3-4 clutches of eggs a year. Most of them have been infertile except of course for the pair of eggs they hid on me that hatched in their tank in July.
