what about DIY tanks too? Im curious how long peoples DIT tanks are lasting. My 120g that I got for free seemed to be fairly old. It came out of a abandonned storage space and had been there for years. It had been resealed and then i had to reseal it. I estimate 12yrs old.

I have two tanks a 20 and 23 that are from the 60's. No labels to back that up though.

They use to be my dads old tanks back when he was a fish keeper. He even has pics of them on old slides.
That's cool. I'd like to see those slides.

My first tank was a metal framed slate bottom hex that couldn't have been more than 10 gallons. It was my Grandma's.It had to have been from the 60's. Wish I knew what happened to it.

I have a 30 gallon running now that is from 1987.It has been moved at least 4 times.Sat in my parents garage for at least 15 years empty, and through Iowa winters.Never been re-sealed and is now in my kitchen. The only way to get a pic of the date is to take the gravel out,so sorry,no pic.

there was a thread, a guy and his grandfather built tanks.

His grandfather built a 15ft long fish tank

lol at warranty...

haha i know i thought that was kinda funny too.

if im not mistaken now that i think about it i think i have a all glass 10 gal that was built in the 80s too i want to say it was 83, also the 20gal that i got with the 125 has a build date of 87.

i had a 90 gallon that was old, unsure of the year but the outer size was irregular and larger than newer tanks. the trim was shot and i was trying to get a new plastic trim for it and i gave the guy at the lfs the dimensions and laughed at me and said " that tank is older than you". it was beat up i sold it soon afterwards and bought a 135gall
