oldest aquarium here on MFK

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
some of these tanks are pretty cool. i enjoyed the early 1900 ones. i thought the thread would be oldest as in the longest running tanks (not being shut down for any significant time). that'd be a cool thread too

Here ya go. Pics of my 125Gal with the center glass shelf bracing instead of plastic braces. The shelf is actually a little lower than the rest of the top of the tank if you can tell.

i used to have a 10 gallon metal frame tank. had to be from the 60's or 50's. it looked like a giant toaster.

Bump for antique tanks!

I have a 170g tank which is given to me by my father. It is all glass and made at the year 1990+. Older than me since I'm just 14 and still no leaks and being used by me now. IMO old aquariums are better than aquariums today.

Here are some pictures of a friends tank. It was originally built in the very early 1900's and was in the Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco. Interior dimensions are 120" x 24" x 24". I restored it for him over the course of two months. He has some older ones set up also from the 1800's, but I don't have pics of those. He is a VERY avid collector of antique aquariums.

SIMPLE BEAUTIFUL!
