I was told that my 125Gal is older because instead of center plastic braces it has a glass shelf at the top as the support structure... Anyone know roughly how old these are?

Not sure of the age but I have a couple as well. My 150g has a thin glass center support and one of my 180g tanks has a monster 2'x2'x3/4" thick piece of glass for a center support. I think they are either oceanic or california custom tanks --not sure.

I'd like some info too,
Chris

there was a thread, a guy and his grandfather built tanks.

His grandfather built a 15ft long fish tank
That was Midnight, I have not seen a post from him in a while.

See mine is even different than that. Mine is even trimmed out with the wood grain and everything. It is very thick. I am heading home from work in about 20 mins and will grab you guys some pictures. I didn't think I was going to like it at first, but ending up loving it! The only bad part is the lids for it are custom made for it, so if they ever break will have to get some recut for it.

This is at a local thrift store here. I went and took a look at it and was wondering what in the world was going on with it but now it makes sense. It's all metal framing around the edges. Must be an old tank. :D

EDIT: Nice tank pi-eyed.

Thanks Jon :grinno:!!!!
