OMG....HELP...smelly tank

The smell is the poop and the sinking pellets. is it poopy smelly or fishy smelly? is it by a window? sunlight does the latter smell to a tank.

I would drop 2x sponges in your 110 and add some seachem matrix instead.

more of a fishy smell, and yes, it is right in front of a window, that was the only place to put it....I have dark curtains I could put up if that would help....but even if we moved it, it's still going to be by a window, we have lots of windows in the house....

and I have 3x sponges in the ac, top one hangs out of the water a little, but I just move that one to the bottom when I have to get rid of the bottom sponge.

Its the sun then,....please follow my advise and you will be all set. Cover the window it is by. Up the changes. Loose two of the sponges. Add the matrix. Enjoy the "new" no smell lol....

How would I have known? Increased algae is the answer....

carbon can only harm fish if left in . after a while it can release what it has absorbed . thats way you replace it every month or so
