OMG! Sand people, check this out!

Nothing in mine but I didn't use pool filter sand I used sand from the lfs...I guess no magnetite in theirs.
 
It's normal. It's just a little bit of ferrous dust, it just all clumps together on the magnet making it look worse than it is. Some sand will have more than others, playsand will be the worse. It's nonreactive and should be of no concern.

I found this to be the most interesting part....







They say humans used to be able to detect the magnetic field of earth....Evolution has made us loose this ability. Try this....Put your mag floats on top of your tank lid....Put one face up, and one face down.....It is interesting to watch how the fish behave to this:D I have also read that this does not hurt them FYI....
