Its not new its a used tank. Ive had the heaters in there since monday at around 3. When I put him in there it was at 82, and I thought I lowered the temp on the heaters but I turned the dial the wrong way and I couldnt tell till I put my digital one in and noticed how hot it was.

Today's Tuesday. 23 hours still isn't anywhere near long enough, IMO. If you still don't have them stabilized, and now you turned it down too low, you're going to wreak havoc on your poor oscar... Personally, I'd put him back wherever you had him, until your tank is stable, and remains stable for a few days.

If it doesnt lower down anymore before I go to bed I will. However I think in his opinion hed rather be in there instead of my other cichlids screwin with him in my 55g

Instead of flaming him, helpful advice always works... Continue with the water changes slightly lowering the temp each time.

well didnt back in the day they'd just add water decolrinate and add filter pads from other tanks and wait a day then add fish.... sometimes i still do that way but only on anything less then 10gals

Yeah I took an old filter off my 55g and put it on my 150g and added some decorations I had in my 55g to it too. I checked my parm's and everything was good. I got my water down to 79 last night so its all good now.
