Here is a pick of one of my L273's Titans (since sold) for comparisons, but these also come in quite a few different pattern variations and degrees of color.

Thanks. This pleco is gorgeous.

I will have to do some research on this pleco, and eventually get one.

On average what is the cost for a 4-5"?

That is one of the most sought after plecos.. there were some on sale for 180-200 bucks.. but at 4-5" at least 300 or more..

Theres one right now on aquabid.. at 2"
L-25 along with L-24 are on the banned pleco list from brazil..

That minimum buy 10 deal in my opinion was way overboard.. Considering L-25 is so sought after.. it will bound to be all sold.. but owellz.. coo-dos to anyone who had $900 dollars to spare..

why in the world would plecos be banned? i'm not much of a pleco person but, i have a common and a very nice royal pleco. my first reaction when i saw the pic was scarlet pleco but i'm no expert. i think if it was the right price in the right place i would jump on it.;)

the reason for the banned has to do with Brazil's wildlife policy..

since 2007 they created the banned pleco list due to a fear of declining in population, the other reason has to do with unstudied and un-named L numbers of Pleco list.. Since there are over thousands of variation in Plecos species, they didnt want the population to be exploited..

The other thing has to do with Brazil being afraid of extinction in their pleco population, one good example is the Blue Eye pleco... Illegal exportation still exist in neighboring countries, which is why you still see Zebra and Scarlets once in-while.. but prices is jacked wayyyy up..

Here's the list..

and here's more on the reason why...

Peudacanthicus by far my favorite species. P. Spinosus is also a very unusual looking specimen

So are these legal in Cali?
I thought I read somewhere that they are illegal to own in some states... Or did I read wrong somewhere :)
