On A happy note..

Nothing new to add, just wanted to see how your holding up. How are the new ones doing? Just to give you a happy thought I talked to a customer today with a couple of rescue pacu. He keeps them in a huge pond and hand feeds them a varied diet but not live. After talking with him for awhile it was obvious he knew alot about them and cared for them very much. Just wanted to let you know there are other people out there who take care of their monsters too. Even if they are not a member of MFK. But I did mention us.

That is refreshing to hear.. their are a few folks on MFK that really love their pacu and gave them a good home..but i quess we know they are far and few.. for many reasons..i am holding up pretty well.. just picked up my new tank for CK ..part of it still in back of truck..too tired to unpack it all tonight but tommorrow will be the hard part getting it down the basement and eventually in the room..ceiling tiles are being replaced first .. also picked up a black background and white gravel.so he should stand out nice.. thank u so much for your note..these babies are putting a smile on my face too.. just happy MOM is so good.. Thanks again.. well i think this sat or sun i will remove mama venustus to her own tank and let her rest for a month before i put her back with lover boy..i really want her to have some time before she is bred again so maybe i will wait to months.. i am curious as to how the ratio of males and females will come out with these fry and how soon i will tell the difference..wait and see.

I buy them at Petsmart, and they have an opening in the bottom that babies can swim out of, but mom can't. It is used alot for livebearers. Anyhow, it just floats on the top of the tank, and the babies swim down, out of the slot.
