ANCIENT MONSTER RULEZ :arapaimag:asianarow

GMAN had one for a long time. I don't think he had too much of a problem with electrical shock, but definitely will have to be kept alone. They can grow to 3' in the wild and weigh over 50 lbs. That said from owners I have talked with in the past they seem to grow relatively slow for how big they can get. I'd say you'd be lucky to get one up to 2' mark. Good luck!

In public aquaria, they have been known to exceed lengths of 6 feet.
A 2.5 footer would most likely seriously injure a small child. A 3 footer may even kill adults with weaker than average hearts.

Unless you plan on a tank the magnitude of jonhptc's, I STRONGLY recommend that you leave these alone.

You can get rubber gloves that go up to your armpit at agriculture stores that would helpwhen cleaning.Species only is a must look at all the ones in the public aquariums thaey are always alone or with the same species as their self.

u have 2 love a fish that can ATLEAST knock u on ur butt

Mine about 5 inches,Ive been careful and havent been shocked. He has fried and ate any fish I put in with him.I keep some applesnails with him and he hasnt hurt them.Someone on this forum has kept synodontis cats with his electric cats and says they seem to be immune to the shocks.
