One for the car guys

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's sweet. You could always get the blower ported from someone like steigmeier (sp?). KB and Whipple make nice aftermarkets though. I have an '03 Lightning and I've wanted to upgrade for a while now but I'm just too broke.

As far as cost, it will be determined by Super Six Motorsports. They will be releasing that kit info soon. A good website to keep an eye on is miniterminatorforums.com. It's one we started specifically for the M112'd V6, but has expanded to be friendly to all boosted V6 Mustangs.

The blower and inlet in my car are fully ported. I'm using a 2.8" blower pulley from UPR and a 10% over drive crank pulley in my application. I'm looking at the KB 2.6 or 2.8.

I'm not sure which was better, the way it looks or the way it sounds.

Must be nice to live in a state that doesn't do emissions testing. :)

It will still pass the exhaust check. It just doesn't have a CARB number yet for States like CA. I retained full EGR system and I have cats as well. I drive and environmentally friendly race car. :naughty:

The dreaded visual inspection is what makes California "smog checks" a PITA. You can pass the emissions test and still fail because of non-stock devices. :( I used to have to smog my modified 1969 VW Karmann-Ghia before they changed the laws to exempt it. (Now, 1975 and older cars are exempt.) I had a bone stock 1600 DP engine that I'd pop in just for smog checks. Actually, I still have it. It's sitting unused in my garage with about 3K miles on it.

very impressive, but if u wanna move more air n make more power then i'd suggest to stop playing with blowers/super chargers. make some power out of wasted exhaust gas's n use a turbo. or twin turbo. im a turbo head, i dont see how people like to lose power to gain it. dont get me wrong, ur setup is sweet and i bet its fun as crap to drive. thumbs up!

At the same psi levels, I'm making the same amount of power to the wheels as the turbo guys make.

I went this route for the low end torque. When I run the car, the weak point was getting out of the corners faster. I could turn and brake with almost any other car in my class....but they were leaving me behind b/c I wasn't making enough power lower in the rpm range. The positive displacement blower was the cheapest way to get that. This thing is only a third the cost of a basic turbo set up.
