One Month Update of New Lapradei Bichirs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Is it challenging to feed both top and bottom swimmers when they are both carnivore?
lol, while I dont have 'carnivores' I do have a snook and pearsei that can pack it away. Thats why I do a mix of all different size pellets in both sinking and floating. The fish cant be everywhere at once and this gives a fighting chance for some of the polys to get food too.

its not too bad but can be a bit annoying when they hoard all the food. I just dump food at both ends simultaneously so they get confused. I wouldn't recommend bass with polys cuz they are way too damn fast. Dat with poly is probably ok. Dats are much more calm when it is feeding time.not sure if you seen this video but you can check it out.

Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 SD as in silver dollars? Happiest day of my life is when I sold mine, lol. I had seven red hooks and they were agressive feeders!

i don't think SD is a good choice with bichirs. Here is why.

You can tell that they are related to piranha when it comes feeding time. They are voracious feeders and come feeding time there was no way I would get away without getting hosed when they went for the food. Otherwise they were just really stupid. They would be in a corner and freak out like they couldn't find their way out, lol, sad but true. Plus the bioload of seven large red hooks was trmendous. The tank maintence became so much easier when they were gone.

lol I had five SD, now I have one, my wolf likes the taste of them I guess.. always find half of one, gotta get around to bringing him to the Lfs.
