you got that right...

also did you miss a feeding?

i had two redbellies in a 55 for 5 years. out of the clear blue sky one day.............exact same thing happend.

F_'ed up........

only one thing is certain when you keep piranha

you will lose some!

I lost 2 9" Pirayas that way. Be glad its only a Red Belly you lost. I'm out a $1000 street value of P's. For some reason your fish must have shown stress, a weak side, or might have been getting sick to make your other fish turn on him. One of my Piraya Piranhas personality was bad. He killed one and then rammed the tank killing himself and being eating by the other he picked on at the last moments of its life. What goes around, comes around. Keep the temp down and their bellies full.

im kinda new still but my p's sit in one spot! and if they more around the other's think of them as food. :( there just flakes LOL maybe he got pushed outta his space to many times my lil one gets beat down when he moves around to much but ya im no expert that just what i see .

it could be a number of resons, most already coverd^, sorry for your loss, sound like u have to many, or u need to upgrade your tank

the weak ones usually seem to go first if anything....sometimes they "disown" or "kick out" the weak/stupid/slow/crippled one to make their school stronger...keep em well fed and their less likely to even bother attacking
