whats the min size for a single pacu about 180 gallons. Cuz ive seen 1 in a 125 that was about 16 inches

Pacu need more then 180 gallons, and if they're not stunted, get much bigger then 16".

i know that i ve kept them for a few years. Although i know they need a big tank sometimes i think that they may be better of being sold to someone witha 75-180 gallon tank that someone keeping them in a smaller tank and then killing them. Sometimes stunting a fish to keep them from worse conditions is a lil better. Idk if this sounds wrong but id rather see someone with a bigger tank but not huge than someone with a 55 gallon with pacus. same for oscars. If this sounds wrong sorry

The first problem with that sentence is "single pacu." They are social and really need to be housed at minimum in pairs but in small groups is better.

A pair of them (the min # you should have) could probably be ok in a 350 gallon tank. That is for red bellies that get to be about 27" long in captivity, I think 550 gallons would be much healthier but for bare min, I would guess 350.

Black pacus are MUCH MUCH larger and the min for a pair of them is probably 600. With 1000 being a much better situation. They hit 36" in captivity regularly.
