Online vendor shipped me a defective fish.

Well that sucks.. just curious what kind of fish it is. Did the others in the group get the same fish. Did they get first pick and you got what was left. It doesn't hurt to contact the vendor. Most vendors will want to satisfy you. Best you could hope for is a credit. Like others have said you will put out more money to use that credit.

I saved the pic so here it is. It's the lower gill. You guys can be the judge. See, I think the vendor did not ripped me off because I never dealt with him directly. Instead, he tried to rip off the group buy person and I happened to the victim. I was like what are the odds of me getting the same fish out of the whole batch. So when I got the same fish I felt cheated and the vendor being deliberate.

Sheesh, how were you the unlucky one to get a fish with gill curl. How did your group split up on who goes first. I've done a group buy before. There were 10 of us. We took 10 playing cards from an Ace to 10 and each of us picked a card. The one with the Ace went first and so on. I guess it was just bad luck in your part. Like the others said, you can contact the vendor but you might not like the answer. He told you that it was just the fish flaring its gills but he can also say that when he sent them out, they were from the same batch and none of the other ones had any problems. Also, how long ago did you get the fish? The only other chance you might have is that you just received the fish and contacted himn immediately. That way he won't say that you took long to let him know and that it might be your fault. Good luck, The Doctor.

How big is it? As long as its small it should be easy and much cheaper to correct with proper care and clean water. Especially if it's a catfish

The vendor actually had the gill curled fish in his ad. I emailed him asking if the fish has a curl he said no, that the fish is just flaring from eating food. Either he is playing dumb or being naive or just a straight out liar, because he updated the ad with a different fish after I received the one with the curl.
This deserves a negative feedback IMO. You pay for an item expecting it to be in perfect condition and with good faith and you get a defective item instead. If a vendor wants to keep his reputation intact, then he should never send out a defective item unless the buyer consents to it.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Been there done tht, best to take the loss and never deal with the vendor again. I don't talk to the guy who I did a group buy with along long time ago. I complained and became the escape goat. I no longer deal with tht site, unfortunately he is a vendor here as well. Hope you did Not loose too much, and hope the Gill curl can be cure.
