Online Vendors

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dan of Cichilds of the Americas was very good to do business with. He stayed in contact with me through phone calls, texts, and emails. Delivery was great also. I placed an order with Florida Tropical Fish Direct and they have been very quick to respond to me also. I'll have to wait until my shipment comes in before I can give a full account of their service. but I'm happy so far.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. As bad as the past couple of wks have been trying to find someone decent, it's nice to know who I wont be dealing with again and who are my go-to vendors.

Good luck. Just a thought, since I've been down the same road - when I was hot to buy, I also met with pokey sellers, those who appeared apathetic. Don't be too quick to write them off your list forever, keep those bridges intact. Someday, they may have THE fish you need for a breeding project or hard to come by species where you can afford to be patient.

Separately, what's the species in your avatar? I thought chancho initially, but now looking amarillo or flaveolous? Nice looking fish.

Thanks, you're right, that's my 10" Female Chancho.

I just bought some psittacus and a L240 from Wetspotcx. They were very prompt in answering emails. The fish looked great and were larger than stated on their stock list. They were also at my door less than 24 hrs after payment. Shipping was a bit expensive at $69 for UPS next-day air saver but it was worth it since the fish were larger. I would order from them again.

I second Wet Spot. I've ordered from them twice with great results.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Cavamart (James Cavanaugh), he sells some REALLY nice CA/SA cichlids (from OR), and ships pretty reasonably. I've bought some Rio Danli HRP (descendent of those from Rusty Wessel) from him and was EXTREMELY satisfied with the fish and the shipping and his communication. He's currently selling fish on aquabid (as cavamart) - I believe he's selling F2 Carpintis Vontehillo, F2 Trimacs, sajica, red devils, cutteri, Cryptoheros Chetumalensis Rio Chahal F1s. Check him out :headbang2

I didn't know that Cavmart was a vendor. I thought he was just a member. I thought the fish he sold were just from his personal breeding pairs. Anyway, he does have a nice selection when he posts them in the Marketplace.

He is mostly a personal breeder but he has a bunch of breeding pairs that he posts juvies from on Aquabid, absolutely quality fish... here's a few of the fish i've gotten / am getting from him

Cavamart lives a couple minutes away from me, I'm lucky enough to have a number of fish from him and to call him a friend. He's a pure hobbyist and just breeds fish for fun (has been doing CAs only for decades), he doesn't do it for a living at all. So he's not a vendor, but he is a great source to buy fish from.

I worked at The Wet Spot for a while, since it's also local. Can't go wrong with them either, I've got a number of my fish from there.
