cichlid city
I dont want to start a flame war,and this discusson has been tooken on to many times, but for a carnivore cichlid such as a dovii, would you recomend feeders from time to time. I feed mine tank bred minnows, from a friends bait shop, and my dovii like them.also do u think feeders influence natural color.

I think feeders in my opinion once in a while make a good treat for doviis, its funny to see him swallow them whole then watch the scales of the feeder pass through his gills:headbang2
I tried crawdads, and he plays with them before he kills them

When a dovii is in a tank as small as your dovii, excess aggression is best avoided. Feeding live brings out the aggression impo...

my tank is not that small,to be honest, i really wouldent mind a little agression in my dovii,he is a little shy.

No need for feeders IMO.

looks like a 55 or 75

If a dovii in a 55 is even kind of ok.....****The rest of "bigspizz's" statement was omitted out of respect for MFK and he will not post in this thread any further...***

Guppies and minnows can deplete such fish of thier natural colouration. Apart from being a great trick to show friends, your dovii does not require feeders. Every now and then doesnt hurt. Quarentine them if you do buy feedersand you arent sure of their background.

going to need an upgrade really soon, but I'm sure you're aware of that
