OPINIONS NEEDED!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nocturnal and Diurnal species will stress eachother in a mixed tank.

for the cams, he could still make the 100 gallon well ventilated. adding small fans maybe? drilling holes in the glass........or what about tipping it on its side (said the tank was 6 ft long right, make it 6 feet tall) and making some kind of screen drs. just got to make the tank fit the animal you want is all he needs to do.

jessica, if this were a 10 gallon tank then yes i think they would stress them out. but he said this is a 100 gallon tank. he would need it to be really over crowed i think to make it that bad, or cram a ton of them into the tank with little cover. plus if he does live plants, leaf litter, back, tiny hides everywhere, maybe underground tunnels.........and doesnt over crowd i think they will be fine. but thats just my opinion. i know where you are coming from and respect your opinion. personally, if he had the geckos in there i dont think he would ever see them. even at night if he has good cover.

.
No. If one side is opened up and only that side it will become stagnant. And even putting holes in the glass will cause problems and will not provide proper ventilation.

I would suggestions a dart frog tank also.
But not a mixed dart frog tank ( mixing is bad, stresses the frogs, ends up killing the frogs)
any ways a group of leucomelas would look awesome in a tank that size. Very bold and active frogs

Thank you everyone for your ideas keep them comming. As fo now the tank is stagnet and nothing going on as of yet .I will be getting my btm's on 3/15 and will be consintrating all efforts to that and what I'm getting ready to post next in a new thread!!

I'm kind of partial to turtles, maybe a Mata Mata, Snapper? Darts would be really sweet as well. A LFS has a viv. w/a albino pac man frog as the main island inhabitant. Very cool looking. It is a large tank (6'+ at least) w/ n open top that has mad plants growing out of it. the water area has some small tetra, white clouds, etc. Very cool looking.

A colony of Tokay's would be pretty cool...you could get some good lighting and keep live plants in there too. They make all kinds of cool noises when kept in groups too. If you did one male with a group of females, breeding would be inevitable too...

That would be really cool!!!! Jessicas idea of the tree frogs with some small fish in a pond-like area is really cool as well. What about tegus?
