So I just planted my 37 gal I know that its a baby tank, lol. What's the generally opinion on how it looks? Any suggestions, it will be housing one of bb66cuda's blue gold JD, a black ghost, knife fish, and a baby pleco for now, They are all small fish right now, don't worry they'll get into a bigger tank soon. Opinions?

Just me but I would 86 the volcano and add a self bulit rock cave or 2. How much filtration do you have on the tank?

if by baby pleco you mean common pleco.. yes a 37 will get outgrown and fairly fast. you say Black ghost, and knife? what type of knife? a BGK or black ghost knife will need at least a 55 though many will say a 75 or 125 grown.

As far as how it looks. Do the fish seem content? are their enough hideing spots for everyone? It's great to see a tank look nice.. but if the fish don't seem to be content it doen't matter imo how nice it looks. The fish live in it.. we don't.

Dude said a bigger tank awaits.
If it were my sand box, I would move the volcano to near the back corner, the rocks in the other corner I would move more to the center, your tall plants along the back wall, and buy a few short plants for the foreground (you and your fish will fight over where plants go, we do, but we like to re-arrange...constantly...). I would also make another rock cave with found rock....and toss in the glass from a hurricane lamp up front so hopefully your knife will lounge in it, untill he outgrows it.
But it's your tank, play with it until you like it.

I would house those fish in a larger tank. A larger tank is in most our thoughts...things come up though, and I have yet to get that 240 I've been wanting for years now.

I like the sand. I like the plants. I would also ditch the volcano and go with some larger rock piles or caves. I would move the plants more to the outside, and do some rock work in the middle.

I've never been one to care for "Foo Foo" decorations, but do what you like (Different strokes for different folks). My wife loves them, and I have a tank full of red and orange plants surrounding pirate ships and such. It is the only tank of which I do not have full creative control.

Haha yeah the Volcano was my boyfriends add to it, he wants to be involved. I have done tanks in the past, just not this big and I love the sand.

There wasn't supposed to be a comma, just one knife fish (a black ghost one). And a Blue gold JD and common pleco. I know it will be at least a year before they outgrow it, I am planning on a bigger tank set up the beginning of October, the black ghost will be 2" the pleco is 1" and the JD is 3" they'll be fine until the fall I am sure. lol

Great suggestions I think I will move the volcano to the back right corner.

What kinds of tubing for the knife fish? PVC pipe? is there a more natural alternative? I really don't like the foofooey stuff either, like I said the Volcano was for he boy the rest is going to be al natural.

How can I clean rocks to be tank safe? Bleach them?
