Opinions on Eheim Pro 3E 2078

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The 2078 holds far less media than the 2080.

2080
1700 LPH
12L media + 1.5L pre-filter

2078
1850 LPH
8L media + .6 pre-filter

Hope the 2078 is good for mechanical. When I got the FX5 I was torn between that and the 2080 but since I use the 2229 Wet/ Dry I didn't need to have 3 intakes in my 75.

i have a pro3,, very good bio ,,crap mecanical,,(flowtys)

i also have the pro 3 2028 the mech problem is easy to sort out just buy a presurised pond bucket and put it on one of the intake pipes on the pro 3 before it gets to the filter then you have a whole mech filter the size of the fx5 just one big sponge

The 2028 is actually a pro 2, the predecessor to the pro 3, and pro 3e. A hydro sponge over each intake of an eheim will make the 1000% better in the mech filtration end.

i ment the 2080 pro 3 sorry iwhich eheim say is good enouth for a tank of 1000l

this is what i cant work out the dimention of the 2076 are the same as a 2080 on the ehiem asia link posted the size of the 2076 is the same as 2080 with a slower pump 1600lph and is ok for a tank of 400l

the 2078 their are no sizes but it has a 184lph pump but its only good for a tank 700l

if this is down to it having more mech filtration then it shows how rubbish the fx5 is as its just mech with no bio media

a pond bucket do a serch for blagoon cyclone 5000 as they are type i use

The 2076 is far smaller than the 2080. My 2078 is nearly the same height but only 1/2 the width and length. The 2076 is shorter than the 2078 by a good few inches. The new Pro3es are just monsters of filters. I have been incredibly impressed by the upgrades made.

i havent seen the filters so i dont know its just the 2078 has a higher turn over than a 2080

so the dimentions on the eheim asia site must be wrong as the state the 2076 as 330x330 which is the same as the 2080

I'd say the 2076 is approximately 13"x13"X24". The 2076 is a vast difference in size compared to the 2080. It is approximately the same size as a 2028, maybe a little shorter.
