Standard 55G: 8 x Tiger Barb (dithers), 1 x Red Tail Black Shark, 1 x Convict (4" male), 1 x Salvini (2" female), 1 x Firemouth (2" m/f?). Filtration: 2 x AC70's, 1 x Marineland Penguin 200. 1 x weekly water change of 40-50%.

A little overstocked. You might have some aggression. you should do 70% weekly water changes with that stock.

Way too os u have them living like slaves

Okay next we need to figure out how to get the cichlids not too fight. First of all it would help if you got them when they were babies. If they start to fight you should rearrange the decor. You should introduce all of them at once. If a fish lives in a tank and a new fish comes in the fish who "owns" the tank will bully the "new guy". You should have many retreats and hiding places. That stock sounds a little hard to keep in a 4ft tank though. It might work. Good luck:D

I guess I will plan on removing the Red Tail Black Shark when it gets a bit larger. The Salvini and FM are still both small and get along fine. The male Con minds his own business and doesn't bother the other fish. I guess I'm a bit surprised on some of the feedback. Would it be a wise move to consider removing the FM too? My water readings are fine and I keep the tank very clean with large regular water changes.

depends on the stock temperment, what you add, and what you already have. I introduced 3 cichlids about 1/3 the size of anything I had before to my 75 and one of them became second in command after 1 night while the others are not the bottom rung so to speak

It might be good if you dropped the salvini and got a less aggressive cichluid in it's place. you should also try to get a female convict.
