Opinions on my 55G stock

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
now they are small, when they reach maturity could become rough in there.i would lose the RTS,maybe try to get all confirmed M or F.but if they grow out,you might end up with a mixed pair, then the breeding pair would kill the 3rd wheel, and maybe the school

that stock has a chance of working, and its going to be interesting

Alright, I removed the Red Tail Black Shark. As of now, 8 x Tiger Barb, 1 x male Con, 1 x FM (sex undetermined), 1 x female Salvini. The female salvini is constantly quivering and trying to impress the male Con, who is not at all interested. Should I be concerned about the Con pairing up with the Salvini down the road? Regards

If they do you will have to remove the FM. If they do breed you could get some real money off them.

I don't think you're overstocked at all and I think the Salvini is perfectly fine in that setup. A male might be too much for the Convict/FM to handle but a female will hold her own just fine.

I've kept a school of 6-10 tiger barbs in a 55g with a breeding pair of covicts. It worked out fine even when the cons had young. So if the con and sal pair up the only fish you may need to move would be the FM.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback. The Salvini is acting like a hussy in her attempt to get the Con's attention (I'll have to post a video). Fortunately, the male Con would rather pace the length of the aquarium and back all day.
