Someone is going to buy this fish sooner or later. That's a given fact. We all know that different strains apply per species on their physical appearance, therefore, at times hard to differentiate. Especially, if photo is not 100% clear. Of course, hybridization can also come into question too. Not to derail, but I'm starting to question some of the ID's used by certain LFS. That's another topic for another day, lol..... But here is something for the observers viewing this "for sale/trade" post. Central American species are super cool! We need more keepers in the NW. Now somebody buy this fish!

from the photo above^^^^^^ it looks most like the maculicauda.

random question here. Set up a 180 awhile back.. can I put in 11 rainbows all at once? or will the bio-load be too much?
thanks.

The craigs list fish is syn for sure. Still think fish in question is Maculicauda. I think I see what you are looking at with the tinge of color around the caudel spot, but the color on the lower head and faint "belt" still have me betting on BB. If this week wasn't so busy with Thanksgiving prep I'd run down and get it.

After the second picture, I'm leaning towards BB with James. Really impossible to say 100% though. I'd come over and check it out in person if you lived in Portland!
