guys, I need to order everything ASAP.
financially, fx5 is winning over eheim 2262. BUT I am bad at assembly & really need the most simplistic maintenance, mechanically speaking.
It's between these 2 because their backflush features can be used to drain water for changes.
SOOo which is easier?
I'm looking for practical use info "where the rubber meets the road".

If I get eheim, have to start with one & add on a little bit later.

Don't know how to do a sump.
I googled pre-made sumps, even, and it's like they just expect everybody to know how to buy & assemble all the plumbing etc. and have a reef-ready tank standing by. NOT ME.

I want to get this tank setup before the holidays.

FX 5. Look on Craigslist and buy 2 used ones loaded for the price of one new loaded.

craigslist areas are too far from me. several hours drive.
gonna buy new filters. less risky anyway.

what size tank do you have?

If you can piss money go with the 2262 if not 2 FX5s will work very well!

cheapest I seen for a 2262 is 373 shipped and thats with no media.

are both equally as simple for assembly & maintenance- no additional modification parts needed at the outset? or is one easier?
easily befuddled & frustrated female, here.

would a 6ft tank need 1 or 2 fx5, and for sure 2 eheim bcuz of their less GPH? or would using a water pump to blow debris over to intake be a viable option?
this is my first big tank.

over filtration is always better. id do two fluval fx5s because like f1 said you can get 2 for the price of one 2262 (approx) and set up for fluvals is easy plus there are a tonne of people who could help you on here if you need help aswell.
