You need to count up how many outlets you need. You can use outlet splitters to on the main outlets as long as you dont go over the set amount of amps per plug (I can tell you that later today if you like). So 4 outlets might be enough...but if you need to add another 4 outlet strip id look hard at the RKL3. Another thing to note...if you have everything plugged into a GFI....its not a bad idea to split pumps and canisters and stuff like that up on 2 separate strips. Each strip has a plug for the wall...so if you have one strip plugged into a GFI and the other one plugged to a different GFI...if one trips...your whole tank isnt shut off with no water flow.

Good suggestion on the GFI.

As for the plugs I called and talked to Digital Aquatics about it yesterday. They told me that as long as I used outlet 1 or 4 that I could run both of my pumps (reeflo dart and reeflo blackfin 3600) on one outlet. I would use one outlet for my lights, one outlets for the powerheads in my sump and the pump going to the media reactor. That would leave the last outlet for the heaters.

It would be convenient to be able to plug other small doodads into the same strip but I'm not sure if it would really need it.

One of the biggest things I am looking forward to is being able to hit the one button to stop all of the pumps for feeding time and for water change time.

:D glad i can help spend your $ lol.

I got mine from aquacave.com they have free shipping on orders over 175. Might have to wait for the RKL to come in tho...the RK controllers are hot and sell out fast...I had to wait for mine.

I did a search on aquacave yesterday to find out how their service is. I got mixed reviews so I hadn't decided if I would order from them or not. MarineDepot offers free shipping over $175 as well.

Yep that would work. What I am doing on my system is using the RK plugs for anything that I may want to control and then using other regular outlets for other stuff like stand lighting air pump and things like that. Another thing to note about the strips and splitting the outlets...the outlets are facing the wrong way to just simply put a 3way plug in...you have to use a splitter that would have a short length of wire on it.

Yes the feed timer you will like...I have fooled with that some and it works like a charm...and its timed so you cant forget it off!

Ahh I never knew anything bad about them...I found them when I started setting up the tank and saw the free shipping and wore it out...I never reviewed them online. I have ordered from them probably 4-5 times now with most of my equipment for the 240 and they have been perfect! Always picked up the phone...stuff always shipped that day if they had it...and got to me quickly. I even returned my first pump (reflo cuda never used) after having it for over a month with no issues. So....

Just got off of the phone with AquaCave. I placed my order for the Lite 1. He actually suggested that I go with the lite 1 over the lite 3 for my tank. It's nice to deal with someone that doesn't try to take advantage of you.

I changed my mind and called them back. I changed my order to the Lite 3. I don't want to start hooking everything up and be dissapointed that I went with the cheaper one. If I would have decided to get an additional four plugs it was going to cost me $89 so I figured what the hell, it's just money!!! :D

The RKL is also back lit too...I think you said only the Neptune JR was...but the RKL is too...only one color tho...not 30 like mine...ohhh ahhh fun to play with but dat about it lol.
