You can use outlet splitters to on the main outlets as long as you dont go over the set amount of amps per plug (I can tell you that later today if you like). So 4 outlets might be enough...but if you need to add another 4 outlet strip id look hard at the RKL3. Another thing to note...if you have everything plugged into a GFI....its not a bad idea to split pumps and canisters and stuff like that up on 2 separate strips. Each strip has a plug for the wall...so if you have one strip plugged into a GFI and the other one plugged to a different GFI...if one trips...your whole tank isnt shut off with no water flow.
Good suggestion on the GFI.
As for the plugs I called and talked to Digital Aquatics about it yesterday. They told me that as long as I used outlet 1 or 4 that I could run both of my pumps (reeflo dart and reeflo blackfin 3600) on one outlet. I would use one outlet for my lights, one outlets for the powerheads in my sump and the pump going to the media reactor. That would leave the last outlet for the heaters.
It would be convenient to be able to plug other small doodads into the same strip but I'm not sure if it would really need it.
One of the biggest things I am looking forward to is being able to hit the one button to stop all of the pumps for feeding time and for water change time.
