Did you get them to eat, jwd jwd ?

Okay, so I got to work and left the light off. I dropped half a dissolved blood worm cube on two of the polys and they didn't eat it and scattered the rest. The fish eat it. SO I'm going to the market a few blocks from my office and buy the fillets. I'll probably buy one fresh filet and the rest frozen so I can feed right away.

Edit: I LOVE how they prop themselves up on their fins.

Cut it up smaller than you think. I've found that with the fish It's hard to judge what size chunks they can take in when small (like my small mouthed ropes).

I think they'll love the fish! Please report back.

Will do. Hoping to get over there pretty soon.

Just got a big pack of individually wrapped tilapia. I broke one in half and put it in a ziplock and put it back in the freezer. Then I took the half I'm using and put it in a ziplock and tossed it in a bowl of hot water. Going to let it thaw some and then let it sit in tank water?

Does it need to be warm or just thawed enough to cut up.

We have eating going on!!!

It's too funny too. They take it and "kill" it. Then they swim away with it in their mouth.

Edit: A little worried that the piece might be too big. It's the size of a penny but one of the ornates "kills it" and then drops it.

Nevermind, the ornate got a piece bitten off that looks huge and he just swallowed it haha wow

A man needs his pics!

Some of the pieces are too large but they're able to rip pieces off of it. Now I gotta go retrieve all of this food. This food seems to be a lot cleaner than pellets or bloodworms. Think I can leave this in for a good while so they get good and full?

They may overeat, I would take it out when It's full

They shoulllld generally stop when full.... unless you have a fatty boombalatty Ornate like DMD123 DMD123 . I usually put the food in in smaller batches, if they eat it all I add a little more until they slow down. But my group is newer so I don't have it dialed yet. Others with established groups know that they give X amount of tilapia at each feeding. I'm not sure how long they leave it in before removing.

But in the future I'd do much smaller pieces, personally. I had one CB Senegal who dislocated his jaw, likely from trying to force down something too big, so I err on the side of easy to swallow now. That may have been a total fluke, but still. I had to euthanize him. :(

But again - I am new to this poly thing. Maybe they should be large pieces that they rip off smaller hunks from? I don't know. Mouth sized bits work well for me.
