the ornates would need to stay in the large tank, a 75 isn't enough for them long term.
I know nothing about safe wood,have always bought it. Let us know what you learn! I'd love more branchy pieces in my tank vs the thicker ones that create hidey holes for my polys.

I'll let you know how it goes. Also, I wouldn't leave the ornates in the 75 for too terribly long. They'd eventually go in the 125, I'm just growing them out in the 75.

Well now I'm getting an Endli and by the time he outgrows this tank I'll have my 300 gallon I'm getting once I build my new house in a couple years. I'd have it now but I don't have any room at all for it.

yes to the hides and the plants! I'm gonna have to order some floating plants.Since they are new and babies they are just feeling insecure. Your scape is nice but they don't want to be eaten.
You might consider some branches, even if you want to avoid large DW to avoid bichir hiding, maybe somehow suspend some up higher for cover. I'm actually trying to figure out a way to do that now with one of my pieces. You could do skinnier branches now while they're all small.
You could also add some more plants or.... wait for it... floating plants! I'm the floating plant pusher, but I really do think they makes fish feel more secure.

If you say his name 3 times he appears in your thread so I better not say. I'm not buying anything else until I get the 75 running. I don't have a quarantine tank so wherever I get the next group of polys from they will go in the 75. Then they can stay in there for a while to make sure they are okay.
